put it down to experience, your male should be much better next time round, it can take them a few spawns to get the hang of things.

you probably do still have some fry but if there's only a few it's very very hard to spot them, usually they'll hang around heater or filter and at corners most

    I have a crisis!

As I didnt know the babies had survived I dont have any live foods - and one survived!

I do have frozen BBS can I start the baby on that whilst I get the live BBS and vinegar eel going?

(I killed my microworm culture Sad )

I have vinegar eel culture going - but dunno how long it takes before i can make a feeding culture.

We have TWO babies and I have just fed some frozen BBS defrosted in some tepid water.

liam, they're still living ... though i think i prefer the micro worms for long term culture lol

bbs def get the practice in now with them cos a failed hatch is all it takes to kill fry in the first month. they need food and regular

the brand i use is great, i don't use airline or anything, premixed with salt already,
I've tried a few over the years and it gives me good hatch rate with little fuss

shell-less in liquid are reasonably gd to hatch but poor hatch for price i find

Liam would you not do better starting with straight live adult brineshrimp in a culture tank to breed?

    glad you enjoying them though

    pmsl

I can believe that with you

bettas need attention ... marines don't in the 'pet' sense but need more maintanence/care to environment

I can do the love and water changes but i know i would struggle with the marine set ups.. lights, salinity, skimmers etc. I'm bad enough with aquatic plants lol

    and hose pipes lol

I have the hatchery going with the deshelled eggs - but none seemed to hatch this time (did before)

Still feeding on BBS frozen defrosted in a cup of tank water 3-4 times daily - the vinegar eel is coming along nicely

I also now have THREE babies - and deffo only three. I stripped out the tank for a good clean as the plants shed loads and I didnt know what was food or plants.

I gently syphoned up with the turkey baster and checked everything over.

I bought a little tank for the fry to go into and used the existing spawn water for them so no harsh changes.

Will put up the pics for you later with the spawn tank with Tango in ready for conditioning Smile

I had a clean out of the bottom of the tank as it was rather grubby today and I managed to do a head count and I have two remaining and one was found dead which is such a shame but two out of three is good Smile
