Re: 1st spawn
looking good hun!
Glad you got the pics sorted!
btw. if your cultures don't arrive in time... you can use a bit of hard boiled egg yolk for the first few days after they're free swimming.
Break a pinch off and mix it in water, either spray or use a small pipette's worth of the cloudy mix. 2 sprays/1ml of pipette 3-4 times a day. Don't over feed though as it will cloud the tank and fould with water but a great first days fry food when used sparingly. remix it with new piece of yolk and water for each feed.

Re: 1st spawn
I have known some breeders not to feed them while they are looking after the eggs/spawn.
Usually when they eggs have hatched and the spawn are free swimming, then "dad" is removed to his own tank and then fed a lovely meal for all his hard work!
I'm sure Kel will come along and let you know what to do, after all she knows her stuff when it comes to breeding and raising betta fry!!

Re: 1st spawn
I don't feed the male whilst tending the eggs, it can make them munch the eggs and babies. Some people do feed them whilst tending the eggs as a measure to prevent them from eating the eggs but i have never tried it. Once i remove the male he gets a good feed up and rest. I wouldn't adivise feeding him til he's removed...
