I started out with a fair few CT's too but Kel mentioned it could've been a bad spawn genetic wise as most of them died, this spawn seems so much stronger esp the big ones wow, i cant get over the big fry to the runts!
@Dave~ haha, i know its eye is quite weirdly hypnotising, lol!

Thanks everyone im just so happy that things are going better on this spawn than my first spawn just growing so fast compared to the CT spawn that seemed to take forever to grow!

Nice batch! I find that most who spend most of the time on the bottom dies.

Iv been looking at my fry and noticed 1 small fry that looks to be DT! It doesnt look to have a nipped tail but iv looked at the other fry and i dont see anymore...iv tried to get photos but its hard as my camera wont zoom in and focus on the baby.
This is what i got:
Heres a few photos of the bigger fry:
This is the size difference:

That's quite odd that you would get only one DT out of that many fry. I have DT in my Gold and Copper lines and usually get 25% every other generation except the one spawn I crossed DT to DT. Then I got 3 or 4 single tails out of the 619 I started with so that is odd at 1/2%.

Re: SD X HM hatched 9/2/11*updated pics*
I know thats what iv been thinking its very strange and i dont know the backgrounds of either parents although the female was from Kel so she may know...
Iv looked and looked and the more i look the more i see it looks like a DT, even asked my 8 yr old daughter to look and she says the same, i just wish i can get a better photo...will keep trying tho.
If it turns out to be a DT would i need to respawn it with the parent to try get more DT's or would that not work? Im not good with genetics...sorry!

Re: SD X HM hatched 9/2/11*updated pics*
Deffinately DT. Spawning to the parent you wouldn't know which one has DT genes. Spawning with a sibling would be russian roulette. DT X DT gives you 75% DTgeno (approximately). If you got one of the offspring that wasn't DT geno you wouldn't get any DT fry until you spawned those siblings and hope you get two that are DT geno again. That's how it's supposed to work, BUT not neccessarily. I've been breeding my Singletail DT geno to DT for 7 generations now and always ALWAYS get 25% DT every other generation. I don't know if I'm just lucky and pick one that is DT geno or all of them are.
