Re: SD X HM hatched 9/2/11*updated pics*
although they look female don't be surprised in fin growth any time now
the aggression constantly changes with setting
obvious males are always male but what looks female has the possibility to change!
if they are slower growth there is also a possibility of all/majority females... just an observation I've picked up like the ventrals and too much worm feeding.
otherwise they ook healty and rowdy!

Thanks Kel i need all the advise in sexing them...lol!
Some im quite curious about to see if im right but others i really dont know as most look like they have an ovi spot but thats nothing to go by as iv learned from the past!
Im very excited to give you a photo update as i think they've grown a lot in 2 weeks you'll have to tell me what you think...
...here's the big fry there's 6 in there now and i think there's one possible male by the way he acts with the others...but as i said im not 100%

Re: SD X HM hatched 9/2/11*updated pics*
Looking at my fry today and the bigger fry are starting to show their real colours, i have one that looks so much like its dad but with lots of copper in its body and tail.
The dark bodied fry with red fins and tail are a mixture of their parents and the paler ones are like their mum id say.
The fry with the blue shimmer iv know idea who they've inherrited that from.
The are stunning, iv have what looks like a cambodian in the small fry and one with very strange colouring like a cellophane with pale peachy body and clear fins/tail but with the black trimming.
Il get a few photos so you can all see...its pretty hard to get photos as they see the camera and start wiggling!!

Re: SD X HM hatched 9/2/11*updated pics*
Today iv jarred 5 bettas which look like males (no ovi spot, aggressive behaviour and 1 did flare at another!)
Fins where starting to get nipped too so i thought best thing to separate them.
Also moved some of the smaller fry that have grown out the nursery and into the primary school (as my 8 year old calls it!) as they where getting quite big very quickly.
Il get photos soon

Individual update
This is a photo update of every individual fry, sorry some photos are blurry!
Firstly these are the small fry still in the 40 litre tank swimming together although i think some are ready to be jarred!
The runt
Small silver fry with red wash:
One of the blue fry with red ventrals:
Im loving how this little one is develpoing its colour kinda of a deep red finnage & ventrals, dark body but with a shimmer of copper on various scales:
The big fry that have been jarred so very hard to get an unblurry photo, lol!!
This is a big blue fry:
Big copper fry with black edging:
This is the one im keeping whatever it turns out to be but i think it looks female, its white with deep red wash on fins and tail, has 4 ray branching as you can see in the photo:
This is my biggest silvery coppery fry with the black edging:
