Quick update: The nest is a fair enough size now and quite thick in nature. Just needing the female to playball now, we have had a couple of darts to the nest but she gets chased away after a few mins by the male? Don't know why?

I shall have to re-tube around 2pm as im off to work

Hope she's willing to spawn later, when you get home.

If there is no problems betwene the two, let them swim round for a little while. Like you say, the male seems more interested and builds quicker with her out and round him.

As soon as i retube her she out within a couple of mins

They have tried wrapping 4-6 times now and keep failing and he chases her off,

they building up now.. you are on a late night!

Leave them for a while and try again in a few weeks? Sorry babes, I dont really know...

Put them back in their respective tanks for a couple of days to a week then try again. He blew a nest to start with, didn't he? So maybe they just got bored and fed up and need time away from each other ;-)
