Black and yellow

Iv been looking for a bumble bee betta for a while iv even asked my local MH aquatics to enquire from their suppliers and nothing no one could get one. So now iv decided to spawn a yellow female and a black male to see if i eventually get the desired mix of colour i so badly want.

They've been wrapping from about 3pm today first wrap was full of eggs this is the males 2nd spawn, for the female this is her first and hasnt been picking up eggs just eating them...not very many though thankfully!

After almost 4 hours of spawning they are still going strong and shes still dropping lots of eggs.

Had some info about the yellow female from the breeder i bought her off and her parents where both red so my fry out look doesnt look good in what i want

You never know till they grow out. Yellow is red recessive, I think, black is also recessive. You are likely to get reds mainly but a second generation would probably have yellow and or black. So much for my basic genetics The saying " a little knowledge is a dangerous thing" springs to mind

I spawned a Melano HM to one of my Gold Yellow DT geno females. The male died before I could breed one of the daughters back to him. I found another Melano HM male and spawned him to one of the daughters to get Black fry. I have a sibling spawn planned from the F1 offspring. They are mostly Green with some that are Blue and others that are Pastel Green and some with a Butterfly pattern. I'll keep you posted to see if the fry come out with both Black and Yellow. These are some of the results from F1.

He's a beautiful Chocolate. I don't know if mixing Chocolate in with Black and Yellow would work but you never know.

didnt spot that the first time thanks chard, yes even a pattern like that would do, but im really aiming for something like this but would like body colouring striped too:
