this is a vid of the fry over the last week.you can see the colour in the under a small torch.
they will take almost any food now.they like chopped up blood worms

The big fry look quite big in length how long would you say your biggest fry are?

Mine take whole blood worm, the only thing is if it doesnt eat it fast enough another fry grabs the other end and so its a tug-o-war over the food.

The big blue one is beautiful...can you sex yours yet? Im not overally sure yet.

the biggest are as big as the last digit on your little finger.i still chop the blood worm up nat for the smaller ones.the bigger ones only want to bully the other bigger ones..suits me as i can keep them together for at least another..i hope..lol!i feed them brine shrimp and daphina all frozen too.
cant sex them yet although there is one thats likes to peck at anyone.:-)who no`s yet

fry are coming on great now still have around the 30 mark @ 2months.they are way to fast for me to take a picture!without my light on you can see alot of colour.

some seem to be blue/red wash other have alot more red in the right light!

cheers nat i managed to get a few snaps of them today..

i have already spotted a few keepers,they have a purple shine to them,well some of them.all the rest are blue with red wash/although the male is green.
they will take any food now.ive set them up on a 5 stage rack..

they really are coming on well now very impressed with myself tbh

today i jarred 7 males up as the fighting was getting bad..


this one i will keep as i think he has odd....

Do you know what sex some of your fry are yet? Some of mine i can tell they are boys but others iv no idea...clueless.

the ones ive jarred upto yet i think are male..but they were just the most agressive ones with the biggest finnage so i took a guess..some of the fry have a visible white spot and are no so aggressive although they do squabble

All mine are aggressive and have ovi's apart from one that i think may be male but he looks like he's wearing blue eye shadow!!

Wow they have really grown. Are they in a grow out tank or the original tank?

have a close looks at the ray count.. were parents hm, pk or hmpk?

I ask as the first two girls look pk but others look like they have wider and 'fluffy' hm type tails as well as straight edges even in the blurry pics.

last girl and marble above def has hm/sd finnage but marble also shows a decent dorsal so could be either dt genes somewhere or she's more hmpk

green looks hmpk male (guessing with whats visible in pic)

This is the biggest prob with genes, when crossed it's hard to categorise apart from looks and offspring if not line bred to be stabilised won't give consistant fry/tail types.

They are looking fit and healthy and I do think you will have many fry with potential should you choose to breed a next generation

this is only my 2nd spawn,i had to start some where with a line so 2nd gen could be better,alot have red wash in them id like to breed out!

ive had 9 of what i thought were males jarred for 5 days now.its easy to tell who the males are now lol one has made a tiny nest in his jar!!

some are jarred and some are still in the original tank

ill get some video for you lot on Saturday.they have all changed so so much!!!i have one male that was green last week..now hes white/black marble.alot of white coming through with them all!

mum and dad certainly are hm but will be interesting how all the fry turn out....( anyone who knows van and netty on paradise will remember their spawns that gave them all sorts even in next generations)

looking forward to the vids.... that is the issue with marble... one minute they look like this then they look like that... hard work sometimes if you are selling them, picture may not look like the same fish on delivery but they are fascinating!

agree with kel but looking forward to upto date pictures, as on your web site you have pictures of what you say you think are males intresting to see them now.. as some look like good females
