Some of my Bettas!

As some of you may know, i've not really been into Bettas for that long, but i've well and trully been bitten by the betta bug now! So thought i'd let you see some of me and my girlfriends Bettas, at least the ones we have decent pictures of.

Quinn: The first female we got, my thinking was that since she was so plane she'd be like a sort of blank canvas for whatever we breed her with. Her fins turn blue when she's happy and dull down when someonoe/somethings annoying her.

Mercedes: The sexualy confused one! Still no definitive answer as to what sex he/she/it is! Very aggressive towards anything that moves!

Brittney: Thinks she's cute! (which she is, but i'd never tell her to her face!

Rodriguez: Harder work than most children! soooo fussy about food and his tails healing up nicely, half of it was missing when i got him.

Leby: The latest additon, saw her in my LFS when i went to get some more conditioner and she looked so sad and scared, then i noticed her lovely green sheen and had to have her! She glows green during the day and blue at night, such a lovely fish in my opinion.

They may be nothing overly flash or fancy, but they got me into Bettas, all have different personalities and i love them all the more for it!

Yep, Mercedes flares up at just about anything and has a beard, just not as big a beard as all our other males. There's def not a white spot on his/her belly either, unless it's hiding very well. We're pretty certain it's a male pk just never had anything conclusive to say so, no bubble nest or anything.

i say male, i am usually pretty good a spotting them having 4 PKs myself, its easy when you have 1 to compare too

Siobhan is very good at sexing bettas,lol!

I'd agree about mercedes being a pk boy,

His anal fin is def long and very angled, he looks very fat too but not in the girly sense, more like he's just stuffed his face lol

I like rod, vt or not he looks like he's a character!

lovely fish I have almost all those colours, apart from the little cammy girl...pretty fish x

Nice to see so many people agreeing Mercedes (or Kurt as we're changing his name to!) is a boy, it's been a bit of a head scratcher. You're right Kel, the pic was taking during feeding because i find it's the best time to get a good pic because they turn around and change direction more often

Rod is a character, yeh. He's harder work than my dog/children/other half but i adore him, even if he has bitten my finger a few times at feeding time. It doesn't hurt but it fairly makes you jump!
