1,2,skip a few, 99, 100

What a nice surprise I had this afternoon when I saw first one pair and then the other within an hour of each other settling down to a good amiable spawning. I had placed them together the night before last so a day and a half later, Whaala! The Super Black HM male and Blue Lace Black female are my 99th spawning and the Red and White BFHM are the 100th. I checked back in my spawn log and missed the original date by 5 days. 3 out of 4 of these fish with the Super Black male being the exception can trace their roots back to that first spawning 3 years and 5 days ago. I've had to put both of these spawns off several times for different reasons so I'm pretty elated to have them both spawn today!

Coo! How do you keep track of them? Do you label the jars? It's pretty amazing to be able to trace them back that far, especially considering the number of spawns you do.

@ Kel, I have tanks for them all and I'll build more shelves if I need to. I don't know if I'm going to be able to move into my store after all. The ex is trying to get her child support dropped and I may have to hire a lawyer over it. So much for my happiness! @ Time out, I keep a log of every spawn so I know which Bettas are related to each color and tail type. It does get a little confusing at times but then I can go back and trace them in the log book.

You'll have to wait and see how they turn out first but I'll be sure and let you know. The Black male that I thought was Super Black is Melano according to several others, Jeop included on his Bettas4all forum. I had thought the Solid Black one I decided not to get instead was the Melano but evidently I had it bass ackwards. I used to say that, I thought I was wrong once but I was only mistaken. Now that it's happened twice, what ever shall I do?
