I did a spawn last year with a Yellow and White Butterfly Halfmoon and a Green Cellophane female from my Gold/Copper line. The offspring were Platinum Red or Platinum Red and Blue Butterflies. So I bred a sibling pair from that spawn and the fry again are Platinum Red and Platinum Baby Blue but with the previous generation the Baby Blues turned into the Red and Blue Butterflies. I have one male in particular that I hope stays the color he is. At 2 and a half months old he has kept this color longer than the last ones. So far he only has one tiny Red spot on his ventral fin. I love this coloring and since the Yellow didn't come back in the F2 spawn I hope the Baby Blue coloring stays. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: F2 Baby Blue
He's a handsome one with nice colouring! Hopefully the red doesn't increase on him.

Nice fish. I'm having difficulty visualising the family line, could you post pics of the lines? Cheers

Re: F2 Baby Blue
the lil guy will be interestingl... i have a feeling he will may till be a chameleon with that marble gene and the red spot but if he dosen't then bonus!
Do keep him, and i'd love monthly pics!
got any pics of the rest of the spawn/f1 gen showing the colour changes?

These pictures are from about 7 weeks to 3 and 1/2 months and then he was sold. The last two are others from that spawn that I still have. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Re: F2 Baby Blue
when you look for it you can actually see where's likely to change.. you can see the hints and thicker tints build
