I had a male in with my female for about 2 days next to each other but letting him out some times so they could mate as they were doin alot of flirting. I changed the male that was in with my female 2day and left them for half hour didnt see any wrapping just flaring. Then a couple mins later the female started dropping eggs but the new male i put in isnt collecting the eggs or made a nest whet do i du? the female is also hitting itself against the glass and more eggs keepfalling but she isnt collecting them either.

Re: Male not collecting eggs HELP
If they haven't wrapped and eggs are just falling out of her because she's excited or too full, then obviously he's not fertilised them, so there's no point in them being picked up.

Re: Male not collecting eggs HELP
I would actually remove the female, keep feeding her up but use a temp female in the chimney in the breeding tank to encourage the male to build his nest.. put the eggy female back in 2 days time then release her 24hrs later.. hopefully this will cut down how many eggs she drops before they wrap and also gives the new male time to get into spawning mood
*as kallandra said, if a female drops eggs without the male wrapping her then the eggs are useless, they won't hatch and will either be ignored or ate.
