Storm's First Spawn

Aww Storm, Move him in his bottle to the community. That will drive the poor guy crazy coz he can't get to his babies . Or get a divider in there so he can't see them. Poor lil guy.

HE has calmed down, but just looks alittle down. Im sure some bloodworm will perk him up. Me and Kel thought it would be better and ease his stress if he could see the babies.

Althought at the moment theres nothing to see, Well that i can't see.

he'll settle once you've been in and out of tank a few times, once he realises you aren't harming his babies

I think it's sweet how they still want to take care of them.

yay!!!! well done on spawn, the next stage is the best in my opinion stiving to keep the little uns alive is rewarding.
Problem here is i seem to have lost very few and am concerned about rehousing an homing the lil blighters my 100+ estimate is rising as they get bigger and fill the tanks they are coming outa the woodwork so to speak lol.

Well guys i have to admit im alittle saddened today, i just fell maybe i should of waited alittle bit longer.

The male is now in the community tank after a terrible night last night, he battered himself up in his coke bottle and done alittle damage to some of his head. So im now treating him with some meds i picked up today. However im alittle happy that he is still eating, but hes alittle sluggish and just look sad.

As for the babies i think i counted around 30 last night, there loving the egg at the moment and swim to the middle of the tank when i add it in.

The water is alittle on the dirty side, so we are attempting a 50% water change tomorrow and that should brighten them up alittle i hope

Dad seems to be getting worse . Just lying on bottom now and going up for air when need be.

He seems to have perked up alittle bit, so heres hoping.

I've been told and read about it, that males can get a lil down after there seperated from their babies.

He'll pick up soon, just show him mummy betta and he'll be jumping for joy within no time.

is normal wen the males go a bit down after you take them from the spawning tank.Give a few treats and he will pick up again.

I'm sure dad will be fine, my boys always sulk for a few days when they're removed but soon bounce back after a few good feeds and the sight of a lady friend! Hope all's going well with the fry x

how's he doin now?

Dad is fine after mum jumped the divider and gave him a hair cut. Fins are growing back fast and the fry are going great, ive only counter 40 this morning so alittle down in numbers.
