Is it worth it.......? SDxDT?

I bought these two awhile ago now, they were rescues really....which i usually don't buy if im honest as i like my fancies / dragons & tank space is valuable.
They've lived next door to one another since i got them & really taken a shine to one another, the male always builds a lovely nest, so I placed the female in with him last night whilst cleaning tank & boom he got straight on with showing off, & the female seems very interested, so I've left them together for today & came home to a huuuuge bubblenest.
Both standard in colouring, the male (Super Delta i believe...) has some nice colour in there though & the female is just DT, but with 2 rays from what i can make out...so some sort of PK/VT cross.....correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm just wondering whether its worth spawning them, I don't really want to have lots of standard colour betta's, however the idea of possibly introducing dragon somewhere down the line intrigues me somewhat....plus it is the start of a DT line.....& I love DT's.

Appologies for not know too much about you Damo, but would this be your first spawn?

If so, grab the bull......... They seem interested in one another. Use this as a test for yourself. How to save as many fry as possible, what to feed and when, water changes etc, the list could go on. Surely its best to experiment on a spawn that the colours mean less to you, than a perfect pair with a fry survival rate of none?

...so now I'm thinking about when they do finally spawn, try & maybe stopping them once a few wraps are done, so not to completely be over-run as I'd like to do more dragon spawns.

My next questions are.....Has anyone ever split a pair up halfway through before? will the female just drop the rest of the eggs herself? is it good for the female to do this?

Some of those girls are fantastic, i wish i knew you a year ago!! Ive also got a very very similar MG to the one in the first vid of the males.

That's alright, I came across those buried in my laptop about a week ago, remembering the madness.

You should deffo get your MG a little lady friend & then can I reserve a little one!

Ive got him a lovely lemon coloured dragon HM. I do plan to spawn but not for a few months.

Lol, I sold them to a few breeders, & my friend took quite a few, I set him up totally with bettas. I think he has these fry's grand kids now lol. Maybe i might ask for a few.....

I'm planning on doing a few spawns like that again, but like you guys all been talking about on the other thread, where to get them lol. I hoping to get stock through kel, but i think she's been quite busy at the moment.

I've just released the female in with the male now, as she looks as though she might pop if i don't. lol. The male has been quite aggressive though.....we shall see. I may leave them together overnight & hopefully if not tonight they may spawn in the morning.

I know, but im kinda thinking i want a new start with completely new lines....

The female seems more game today than constant hiding like yesterday, she keeps going back for more. The male seems less aggressive but is giving her a good chase now & then.

Well I hope they get there act together, I need some DTs

There seems to be some good talk about UK bred bettas at the moment. Few of us planning spawns over the coming months. Lets hope these materialise!!
