They are all so different. Aggression is stressful I imagine.

The aggression stripes are the vertical stripes they arent just for breeding purposes, the horizontal lines you can see on some of them are that they haven't got all their real colours yet and so is common in fry iv been told.

exactly right nat... horizonal stripes show on deep or dark coloured fry regardless of sex before the full colour comes through. In adults it's a stress symptom. Pale and pastels don't usually have it.

Young males at this juvenile stage will often show the vertical bars similar to a female's conditioned (breeding stripes) colouring but as full adults for some reason the stripes don't show the same in males.

You may have noticed if you've a girls tank that they will also show the 'breeding stripes' when a new girl is added. It is a sign of ready to breed and also ready to fght any competition for dominance."I'm the strongest and also ready to breed" is the best way to take vertical bands.

I was thinking I had another all female spawn until the males started growing their fins out. Almost all of them had aggression/breeding stripes.

Really mine have been showing the aggression stripes and look all female but i guess they've got plenty of growing a head of them as they are only coming upto 4 months old in the next few days.
