| Male: Super Delta with cellophane fins. He has some black and red tinges in them too, and in the light he looks blue.... :OMG: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.](not the best piccy and not the newest :S ) Female: Super Delta, possibly from Half moon lines. But i know she has some Plakat in her genes. She is light bodied and has red tinges in her tail. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I have been conditioning them for 10 days on bloodworm, live brineshrimp, Atisons pellets and Hikari pellets. The male is being conditioned in a bare-bottomed 5G with live plants, small filter and heater and i have just popped the female in the chimney. Loads of flaring going on |

| Thanks guys. Yep they are both gold/coppery. The male has hardly any red, but the female does. Hoping red will be dominent in this situation. I released the female from the chimney at around 3pm as she had vertical stripes and the males nest took over half the tank.... Only mild chasing going on atm... |

| Well no spawning took place yesterday, so i re-chimneyed her.
I released her again this morning, and still nothing. He is flaring and chasing her. But nothing too serious. :S |

| Well, still no spawning.... I left her in till this afternoon, but have taken her out now. There was also quite abit of aggression, to the extent that she was trying tro jump out the water :S
He would make her come up to the nest, then she would swim away really fast. I think i might use a back-up female. |

| I leave the female in there all the time to give him a chance to coax her under the nest. |

| Hmmm, i dont know. She just stays hiding under the plants all the time she is out the chimney, then when he does coax her under the nest, she swims back under the plants soooo fast! Im not sure what it can be though, his nest is massive, and she has vertical stripes. And they both have been condtitioned well too. Maybe i need to give them more time, but i will try another female anyway, and if sitll nothig after a few days, i will put the old female back in. The first 2 bettas i spawned were much easier! |

| Wonder if the first spawns are always quite easy? LOL To lull you into a false sense of security, then things get hard Hope he calms down and leaves her a while, but I do know mine chased the female away from the nest for a while before they eventually wrapped. Maybe it's not quite time for them? i know I was starting to think the same, that it wasn't gonna work, then all of a sudden it was happening |
