| I cant believe it - I have lost 14 girls and 8 boys in total. I literally have 2 boys left and 2 girls. The ones that seem ok are the ones that have been away from my main tanks - the pair in the breeding tank (spikey and lucy) Pongo who has been in my QT tank and also Bonnie is holding in there. I have put Bonnie in one of those Home bargain tanks so I know it isnt contaminated. I just went to do the water change after worming everyone and they literally in front of my eyes started darting their noses out of the water had a swimming fit then went belly up. It was horrible to watch. I couldnt do anything - I still tried to change the water but it was just too late I will be breaking up the tanks and bleaching them - but I do not think this is the worms as only my main tanks were affected AFTER I did the big water change around the time of the water works. I may also sell them both, but definately selling one. Symptoms: Larthargic Fitting Gasping darting round poking nose out of water Going belly up on occasion gills opened up and stuck Hanging Dying Water stats: NitrAte - 10ppm NitrIte - 0ppm Ammonia - 0.25ppm (assuming slight raise due to dead fish constantly being found in tank) |

| just a thought but could it be a contaminate in your water, since this happened after a water change? |

| Thats what i suggested
the 'bettalady' lost a good few fish a few years back from same problem.. roadworks had disturbed the water supply. Water change later and loads of poorly fish. She lost quite a few over days.
Test kits are useless as it really could be anything contaminating it if that is the cause and wouldn't necessarily affect the ph etc. |

| It's very very sad, and wont even help if using neighbours water if that's the root cause. Only thing is could they manage without water changes for a while? But really sounds like very little you can do hun x |

| Could you not contact water company and ask if they have been working near you, it may be expensive but could you try bottle water for awhile see if that helps? _________________ Please vote for us click my sig!!!! | no I only had one die that had worms - thw two with worms are still alive.
I think it was poisoning due to the fitting. If we get poisoned our bodies fit so I would think its the same |
