Mustard gas / Orange HM spawn

Post by Haych on Thu May 06, 2010 11:56 am

Right, been as only three babies survived daddies mouth in the CT spawn I thought I would have a go with a pair that are very ready for spawning (even though the female CT is full of eggs again ).

The plan is to put the CT babies in with these babies if and when they hatch and become free swimming.

Pics of Tango is in his new tank

He has been in there now for 2 nights, and I will be adding the female in the bottle tonight.

Will add more pics later on Very Happy

Added the female to the coke bottle and she is one little tramp! She has breeding bars already pmsl - she was in there for two minutes!

Tango is currently parading around the tank and flaring - so every time I tried to get a pic of him he just shot past, same as when I tried to get a pic of her, he would shoot past and upset the camera lol

I'm hoping for orange and pineapple MG and maybe some like dad.

Kel would be better to advise here though as we discussed this spawn when I bought the pair but not sure exactly myself lol

pretty much that would be the hope.. mg and possibly a few oranges

females blue is royal blue based so might aslso give green/turqouise gas type shades too

Male being solid colour but non red should increase the amount of mg (bf trait)

Will be an interesting match.. but i expect most will be varing shades of mg, especially with female being lemon yellow in contrast to males bold orange.

    Not having much luck (again)

Let LouLou out yesterday for a bit as she was super stripey and he had a massive nest and lots of flaring - yet he just chased her everywhere all night and ripped her tail quite far down in one bit.

Bottled her back up again for the night and decided to release her again this morning and I dropped the lid in the tank and destroyed his nest Sad

He has made it up again slightly so I let him out tonight but still chasing - she doesnt have stressed lines but no spawning.

    Any opinions?

I let my females out at night just before I go to bed or at lights out. They get to see each other then all they can do is sense each other and know they are there until morning. Sometimes makes them calmer. I keep plenty of floating plants for her to get lost in while being chased and still be close to the surface for a breath of air.
