Rescued a Betta Today!! Empty Rescued a Betta Today!!

Post by MoonShadow Tue Sep 20, 2011 4:51 am

I was in Petsmart (mistake #1) looking at the bettas (mistake #2) when I stumbled across this guy buried in the back. He was labled as a halfmoon Rolling Eyes I pointed out to them that he was was veiltail, and that he was sick and would die on the shelf if I didn't get him... So they sold him to me for $0.99.

His water in the cup was clear, not blue like the water in the bettas cups at petsmart, which makes me think he's been there a long time, long enough for all of the blue to fade, and he's obviously never had a water change, the cup was filthy!

He's so stressed out I have no idea what color he's going to end up being when he's all better. And he's so skinny and beaten up, poor guy Sad

I'll post pictures as soon as I have his new tank set up!

Day #2 update on Rowan. He's slightly more active, though he's still sticking to the surface of the tank and not exploring. He IS attempting to eat, though I need to get smaller pellets (I have smaller ones at home, but Im at the boyfriends until tomorrow) the topfin pellets I got him are just way to big for him to eat, poor boy!

All of the little holes in his fins are already filling in with new clear fin! It's amazing what just a little clean water can do!!
