I don't know what you could find for scrap metals where you're at but I spent 5 hours Wednesday and 5 hours Thursday tearing apart 4 broken down motel room window airconditioners. $220 for all of it. That was $22.00 an hour for my time. I took a load down Tuesday of about 30 of them not taken apart and had to take what I got because the motel manager just wanted them gone. At 9 and a half cents a pound, which is the same price as tin or car bodies that came to $311.45 which I had to split and had spent $82.00 on gas and gave him $40 back for the 4 I kept. I made $38 after loading them all and driving them the 80 mile round trip. Thankfully I used my head and kept some for myself. Aluminum cans, copper wire and junk refrigerators, stoves and cars; whatever I get my hands on that I can turn into cash. Between that and my Betta sales I make more than I did tending bar or waiting tables and don't spend near what I was on gas.
