| Im sure i have asked this question before, however here we go again. We ever i have mollies for a few month a couple of the females just go VERY skinny, i mean there face is fatter than there bodies and i just don't know what it is. There feed a mixture of bloodworm and flake food and there all feeding, i can rule out worms as i have wormed the tank.
Any ideas. _________________ Please vote for us click my sig!!!! [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]BETTA BRED TEAM MEMBER, HERE TO HELP |

| I agree, i have 2 females in a quarenteen tank at the minute i have had them ages usually they are constantly getting pregnant and giving birth but this time they have gone really skinny and like you say their heads look huge, they also look slightly wobbly when swinning, i have put some aquarium salt in their water, i have seperated them from my male molly and other female as the male is one of my top show fish and cant risk him catching anything, no idea whats wrong with them, also had this happen with males before |

Defo not preggers as they aint be fat to begin with. _________________ Please vote for us click my sig!!!! | Are all your mollies the same, ie sailfins? Or are they different types, eg lyre tail or dalmation? Were they all bought at the same time from the same tank or did you get them from different places? Do they join in at feeding time or do they get bullied out?
I was just wondering about growth rates and heirarchy issues. |

| Hm ok, do you add any marine salt or tonic salt to your community tank? I know there's differences of opinion on mollies faring better in 'fw v brackish water', and if there is salt involved then there are restrictions on which other fish make good tank mates. It could be a lack of nutrients but then I'd assume that all would suffer the same symptoms, maybe the fish you're concerned about are more stressed than others and are showing it first?
Also, I've read that sailfin's prefer a more brackish set up and a higher kh level than other mollies.
