PostSubject: Sick molly?   Fri Nov 05, 2010 9:58 pm

I think this should be a sail fin molly but not sure.. feel free to correct me but it's ill

I can't make my mind up if it's maybe got flex. columnaris (bacterial infection) or just major bullying.

In the half hour since I restocked the tank after moving them I've seen the male guppies nipping at it. The lady who owned them said it's been like that before and clears up then bad again.. which leads me again to injuries.

It's loads of small white/grey spots/flecks of loose scale or slime coat looking rather than fluff but it's covered all over. It's def not ich etc. and i am enclined to think its either the bacteria or abuse.

any thoughts?

I've just dosed with myaxazin for now but will catch the fish in a breeding net tomz...

here's the pics

Poor thing Sad have you put some salt in? they appreciate harder water as well, esp if it is a sailfin.

I thought it looked like velvet but I suppose if no one else is affected then probs not. Looks like he'll be passing away though, very bad state Sad

its def not velvet nor ich.. not great pics either plus tank is still cloudy from moving house

not even started on water stats etc. yet but it did just get a 2/3rds water change too

I'll check stats, add some salt etc first thing tomz when I catch him/her, can only try and see if it'll recover

salt myaxazin and i think i'll maybe turn up the heat a notch (heater running at 24 C) but want to check what everything else is in the tank first and how they'll handle up to 26-27

#if need be I've always a cycled heated tank to put it in seperate until I figure it out.
