| I like the visi therm and delta therm
I prefer these as you know where the temperature is and I have also been known to take them out of the water when still switched on - the interpet one (visitherm) switches itself off when out of the water |

| Not sure which one's I've got, but I should say, the little flat one's that keep the water temp just above room temperature? Well they are OK, and I've used them for sick fish, but watch them carefully! As if the room temperature goes up, so does the heater temp and could easily overheat the fish! |

| I use Interpet heaters in most of my tanks. Never had any over heating tanks....but wish they could make them shorter in length. Have an easy to read temp window too. --------------------------------------------------------- Have recently purchased an elite heater to go into my 20l divided tank. I love the size of this heater. It measures six inches in length...great lil heaters when the tank is small. Draw back...can't see what temp your setting it at...just got to keep an eye on the thermometer to see the temp...but once at required temp...it holds it there. |

| Have a delta therm in one tank, seems capable.
Use Fluval E type heaters in my other two (with the LCD display) - very good units, easy to set, maintain temp easily etc - look nicer the the usual glass things too imo! |

| I have several heaters with the name Elite on them. They are distributed by Hagen but they are manufactured in China. Most of the 10 to 20 gallon heaters have worked alright but the bigger ones for over 30 gallons I don't trust after I lost all my females from a heater sticking. I also lost my breeding pair of albino Oscars to the same brand of heater. The bad part of the heater is the contact points. After a short period of usage the points pit and end up welding the two contacts together and heating the aquarium to over 90 to 100 degrees and boiling your fish! |

yes i have a fluval e50 also. not only does the housing looks nice , it also prevents the fish from touching the glass tube. |

| Does anyone here use the Hagan Elite variable temp heaters? Was wondering if they are fully submersible. The information available to me seem to indicate that the ones with pre-set temperature are fully submersible but can't find out if the others are. |
